Project Overview:

Bechtel Cavendish Nuclear Solutions (BCNS), a joint venture between Bechtel Ltd and Cavendish Nuclear Ltd, works with Sellafield Ltd to deliver the Pile Fuel Cladding Silo Retrievals (PFCS) Project. The project supports Sellafield’s hazard and risk reduction programme by enabling historic waste to be retrieved and transferred into containers for safe interim storage.

PFCS is now planning for the Full Retrievals phase, involving further silo modifications, preparation for a second set of retrievals equipment and productivity improvements to existing systems. We are seeking a proactive Quality Coordinator to help maintain confidence that project activities, suppliers, deliverables and records meet applicable quality requirements.

Job Summary:

Reporting to and supporting the Project Quality Manager, you will work across engineering, procurement, suppliers and project delivery. A key responsibility will be to ensure that the BCNS project complies with applicable Sellafield Ltd quality control processes, procedures and instructions. You will help define, communicate, implement and verify quality requirements; identify emerging risks; support timely corrective action; and turn quality data into practical management insight.

Major Responsibilities

  • Ensure BCNS project activities comply with applicable Sellafield Ltd quality control processes, procedures and instructions, and support the project Quality Management System and project-specific ways of working.
  • Participate in project and supplier audits and assessments, including checklists, objective evidence, findings and action closeout.
  • Review selected engineering, procurement, construction and supplier documents to confirm that quality requirements are included and appropriately flowed down.
  • Track nonconformances, audit findings and corrective actions, supporting cause analysis and verifying effective closeout.

What you Deliver

  • Develop and maintain SharePoint-enabled quality workflows, dashboards, registers, metrics and trend reporting.
  • Analyse performance data to identify recurring issues, emerging risks and opportunities for prevention or improvement.
  • Promote People Based Quality, Lessons Learned, right-first-time delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Provide practical guidance to project teams, suppliers and client representatives, escalating significant concerns appropriately.

What you Bring

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, and/or demonstrable quality assurance or quality control experience on engineering, procurement or construction projects.
  • Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems and assurance principles, including ISO 9001 or an equivalent recognised standard.
  • Experience supporting internal, project or supplier audits and assessments.
  • Understanding of nonconformance, corrective action, cause analysis and effectiveness review processes.
  • Ability to review technical and supplier documentation, identify gaps and communicate requirements clearly.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and stakeholder-management skills, with sound judgement and constructive challenge.
  • Technical capability in SharePoint, data reporting and dashboard development.
  • Experience in nuclear or another regulated/high-hazard sector is advantageous.
