Job Summary:

The Automation Support role is core of Bechtel's Engineering design and delivery of Project’s completed deliverables.  This role is responsible for implementing 3D & 2D CAD applications for Plant Design & Piping Layout team, configuring them to meet the Project requirements and ensuring Project deliverables as per Piping Work Processes. He / She will work with the Project Automation Lead for coordinating Project requirements.  The role demands clear understanding of Engineering requirements and aligning CAD applications to suit the Project Delivery needs.

Major Responsibilities:

• Under supervision, provides CAD Support to Project reported problems and to situations that require diverse and working knowledge of various CAD applications
• Provides technical support to designers, project group supervisor/s, interfaces directly with central Automation group and provides solutions to reported problems
• Perform technical tasks in support of installation, maintenance, and use of 3D Plant Design applications
• Must be capable of relating Smart3D to a particular discipline and giving direction and guidance during the implementation on project. Should be familiar with best practices.
• Participate in technical workshops and training
• Participate in consulting across department functions and services.
• Provide technical guidance and direction to lower-level professionals.
• Assists in performing product certification assignments.
• Participate in the development of specialized standard practices and procedures utilized in customer support.
• Under minimal supervision, exercise ingenuity and judgment to the development of solutions for complex problems.
• Demonstrate knowledge of principles, and concepts of product specialization.
• Apply skills as a Smart 3D automation support and has working knowledge of interrelationship & data exchanges across various applications
• Exercise a degree of self-direction and decision making

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Specialized courses in drafting, design and engineering practices, and CAD, OR
  • A recognized degree/diploma in an engineering or scientific discipline, AND
  • Extensive experience in design and drafting
• Engineering Degree with 5+ Years or diploma with 7+ years of industry experience from a reputed institute

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Experience with Visual Basic 6, Microsoft .NET, COM/.NET, Microsoft SQL server setup / administration, and Client/Server architecture of Windows.
• Prior consulting experience implementing Smart 3D and supporting installation, configuration and customization is preferred. 

• Knowledge of Revit and BIM360 applications will be an added advantage
