Project Overview:

Bechtel’s Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) Business Unit is designing, building and commissioning a semiconductor fab in Clay, NY. Job Summary:

Bechtel is seeking a Quality Engineer for the Manufacturing and Technology team, based in New Delhi. The Quality Engineer shall monitor the project quality activities to ensure compliance with the approved standards, specifications and schedule through conducting project audit and surveillances.

The Quality Engineer will identify Quality Conditions and opportunities for improvements within the Bechtel India scope of work. The Engineer will support Quality lead in developing and implementing the PQP, Audit Plan, the CLCA (Close Loop Corrective Action) and Lesson learned program on the project.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Quality lead in verifying the Quality Management System (QMS) is implemented by conducting audits and surveillances on the project activities aligned with audit plan.
  • Facilitate the development of Audit and Surveillance quality plan for the project. Reviews Material/Service requisitions, verify all the requirements are captured and share observations with Engineering.
  • Perform supplier pre-qualification, review quality submittals and coordinate with Engineering/ procurement team to meet Quality requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with Engineering and Supplier Quality team on the Project to validate material and equipment meets design requirements, safety and performance parameters are compliant to requirements.
  • Support People based Quality drive and help in establishing and continually improving the culture. Support the project during quality assurance audits conducted by the client, management, or regulatory agencies.
  • Identifies quality problems through process checks, initiates documented action and verifies implementation of solutions. Participates in the project auditing and monitoring program to verify the effectiveness of the project quality program/plan.
  • Tracks closure of nonconformities with project stakeholders and suggest actions to correct deficiencies. Mentor and train new Quality Team members on the project quality activities.
  • Support to measure and analyze key Quality metrics applicable to Engineering phase, collect and report monthly data.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, science, or technical discipline from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 7 - 11 years industry experience with demonstrated leadership component and/or quality assurance program management experience in the construction or closely related industry.
 


 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of Quality Assurance Requirements, and their application to construction, engineering, acquisition services, supplier quality, materials management, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in implementation and management of quality assurance programs. Demonstrated knowledge of EPC industry application of quality assurance standards
  • Knowledge of advanced techniques for assessment, event investigation, cause analysis, human performance, and corrective action
  • Demonstrated knowledge of design, procurement, construction, start-up, commissioning, and operation. Demonstrated knowledge of current construction industry trends, innovations, and regulatory construct, for industry.
  • ISO Lead Auditor certification from an accredited body. Previous experience in development and maintenance of quality assurance programs related to the construction of industrial facilities.
  • Flexibility to respond to urgent project requests and/or changing priorities. Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people of varied backgrounds and objectives.
