Project Overview:

Bechtel’s Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) Business Unit is designing, building and commissioning a semiconductor fab in Clay, NY. Job Summary:

Assigned to a field engineering organization supporting architectural construction scope. Responsible for planning, coordination, and execution support of architectural field activities within assigned areas. Supports work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification, safety, quality control, technical coordination, subcontractor submittal reviews, inspection test plan reviews, field issue resolution, and turnover coordination. Works with construction leadership, craft professionals, subcontractors, engineering, and other disciplines to ensure architectural installations are performed safely, in accordance with design intent, and aligned with project requirements. #LI-ME1

Major Responsibilities:

  • Prepares construction drawings and sketches and interfaces in planning construction methods and procedures in terms of architectural construction.
  • Initiates permanent plant material withdrawals from warehousing, generates requisitions for field purchases, and prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material.
  • Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.
  • Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by site personnel, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
  • Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.
  • Reviews and approves inspection test plans.
  • Works with subcontractors to coordinate work fronts, provide technical guidance, and reviews of submittals.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  •  Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Thoroughly understands architectural plans, elevations, and specifications, ensuring that field installations match the design intent and comply with all relevant codes and standards.
  • Skill to confirm that all architectural materials and finishes meet the specified requirements. Oversees inspections and testing as needed to validate quality of installed architectural components or systems.
  • Experience is conducting regular site inspections to verify adherence to architectural details, focusing on critical aspects like waterproofing, insulation, and finish treatments.
  • Previous understanding of the process to document non-conformances and initiate corrective actions.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with architects, structural engineers, MEP teams, and subcontractors to resolve design conflicts, adapt to site conditions, and maintain architectural integrity.
  • Experience identifying field issues such as material defects, dimensional discrepancies, or design conflicts. Implements timely solutions and integrates lessons learned into future project phases.
