Project Overview:

Bechtel’s Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) Business Unit is designing, building and commissioning a semiconductor fab in Clay, NY. M&T is an exciting and growing business unit that serves customers in the semiconductor, datacenter, life sciences, and electric vehicle markets. Job Summary:

In this role, you will serve as the Deputy Night Shift Manager, supporting leadership, management, and direction of project construction activities and site operations during night shift for a major project or significant portion of a mega-project. You will assist in coordinating construction craft personnel, field engineering, contract administration, cost and schedule, field procurement, finance and accounting, industrial relations, and other project support functions. Your leadership will help ensure project operations are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project requirements while supporting achievement of project objectives for safety, quality, cost, schedule, productivity, and client satisfaction.#LI-AM3

Major Responsibilities:

Leadership/Supervision

• Supports the organization and execution of construction and related activities for a major project or significant portion of a mega-project, including coordination with Bechtel personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and their representatives.
• Serves as a deputy night shift representative and supports the primary client and field execution interface for assigned areas of responsibility.
• Provides deputy-level site leadership by assisting with oversight of construction craft personnel, field engineering, contract administration, project controls, field procurement, finance and accounting services, industrial relations, and professional staffing functions during night shift operations.
• Supports senior client relationships and assists with coordination between project field operations and functional organizations.
• Supports project contractual activities and participates in contract strategy development, subcontract formation, commercial coordination, execution planning, and budget management within assigned responsibilities.
• Helps establish execution priorities and supports resolution of operational, technical, commercial, labor, and organizational issues affecting project performance.
• Supports workforce planning and organizational development activities to help ensure effective staffing and continuity for construction operations.
• Supports continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, productivity, quality, innovation, and execution excellence.

Safety & Quality

• Ensures development, implementation, and execution of the Project Automation Plan, Environmental Compliance Plan, safety plan, site survey plan, field professional staffing plan, subcontracting plan, labor strategy, Construction Execution Plan, and job-site work rules.
• Establishes and maintains procedures to ensure construction operations comply with engineering requirements, project specifications, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
• Promotes and drives a zero-incident safety culture and ensures compliance with all environmental, safety, health, and quality requirements.
• Supports risk identification, mitigation planning, corrective action implementation, and lessons-learned activities to improve project performance and operational effectiveness.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Demonstrated ability to support and coordinate construction activities and related functions for large, complex projects or significant portions of mega-projects.
• Leadership experience coordinating multidisciplinary construction organizations including construction, field engineering, project controls, procurement, contracts, industrial relations, and project support functions.
• Thorough understanding of Project Automation Plans, Environmental Compliance Plans, staffing plans, subcontracting strategies, labor strategies, Construction Execution Plans, and overall project execution processes.
• Ability to support strategic client relationships and assist as a field representative for major project activities.
• Strong commercial awareness with experience supporting contract strategy, negotiations, budget management, risk management, and project performance improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrated success supporting construction organizations across multiple delivery models including EPC and EPCM.
• Excellent leadership, communication, collaboration, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
• The ideal candidate has previous datacenter experience and has successfully supported large construction organizations through multiple phases of project execution on EPC and EPCM projects
