Project Overview:
Bechtel helps customers deliver projects of purpose that create a lasting positive legacy globally. These large, complex, and multi-disciplined projects create jobs, grow economies, and provide opportunities for local and regional communities.
The Eva Copper Mine Project is a greenfield resource poised to become the largest new mine in Queensland, Australia. It is located in Cloncurry on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon people. The Project is owned by Harmony, a world-class gold and copper mining and development company with assets in South Africa, Australia, and Papua New Guinea.
Bechtel is delivering the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scope for the Eva Copper Process Plant and Non-Process Infrastructure. Bechtel is providing these EPC services across all disciplines and functions for this exciting capital project.
Job Summary:
Bechtel is seeking a PEP Coordinator to join the Eva Copper Mine Project team, based in Cloncurry, Queensland. The PEP Coordinator works directly with the Workforce Services function which is comprised of several sub-functions including, Employee and Industrial Relations, craft professional Recruitment, Reward & Recognition, Transport, Camp Management, Site Access Control (Security) and professional craft Training. We seek to optimise our professional craft performance whilst minimising industrial risk.
The role of a PEP Coordinator is principally responsible for supporting the Workforce Services function aligned to Reward and Recognition and providing administrative support to the broader team to help the implementation of the Workforce Services strategy.
Major Responsibilities:
- Understanding and personally complying with Project environmental, safety and health philosophy, systems, and requirements.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive craft professional personnel files, queries, and information.
- Complies with Bechtel and Workforce Services department policies and practices
- Assist in arranging meeting arrangements and catering services for department functions
- May help the broader administrative team in ordering office supplies and maintaining a supply cabinet
- Coordination of employee Reward and Recognition Program including but not limited to site functions, team social and project milestone events.
- Publish, translate, and distribute department bulletins throughout office crib and ablution facilities.
- Keeps abreast of Craft Professional Application and Requisition system functionality known as BrassRing system, supporting mobilisations to the Project.
- Performs data entry into Workforce Services Systems such as SAP Time for actions in Hiring, Evaluations, Reclassifications, Rate changes, Terminations
- Support broader project article development including taking charge of site photos
- Enforce all policies and procedures with project ensuring fairness and consistency
- May assist with collection of information and data in help of Workforce Services specific task/activities
- Assists in maintaining filing system for project files, including legal correspondence, verifications, and other documentations
- Other tasks as designated by the Workforce Services Manager.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Minimum 5 years working in an administrative capacity, supporting functions such as Human Resources, People and Culture or Industrial Relations.
- Administrative assistant or Industrial project help experience
- Knowledge of Recruitment and Onboarding systems
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Teams and Outlook
- Basic understanding of records management (for example Aconex or Teambinder) and processing requirements in a construction environment.
- Solutions focused with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to assist in maintaining project or departmental filing systems
- Basic knowledge of regulatory compliance related to Industrial Relations, with help provided for learning and development
