Bechtel is providing a wide variety project and contract management services, crossing all disciplines, to customers in Western Australia to support exciting capital works programmes, including in aviation, defence and energy infrastructure. We are looking for people to join us in a long-term relationship to deliver these services in and around Perth where we are working within integrated teams with our customers and to help build Bechtel’s capabilities for even greater opportunities in the future. 

Job Summary:

Reporting into the Senior Commerical Manager, the Commercial Manager supports procurement strategy and contract management to deliver commercial value, maintain governance and contribute to effective airport operations. #LI-AF1

Major Responsibilities:

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to understand requirements, provide commercial advice and support delivery of procurement and contract management outcomes.
  • Governance and Compliance: Apply procurement and contract management policies, procedures and delegations. Maintain accurate records and contribute to consistent, transparent and auditable commercial processes.
  • Capability Contribution: Share knowledge and support continuous improvement in procurement, contractmanagement and supplier engagement practices across the team, including supporting the development of procurement and contract management processes and procedures.
  • Procurement: Manage procurement activities across assigned operational and infrastructure categories.
  • Support procurement planning, tendering, evaluation and award processes in line with governancerequirements and value-for-money objectives.
  • Contract Management: Manage assigned contracts and support the administration of more complexagreements. Monitor contract performance, deliverables, obligations and service levels, escalating risks and issues where required.
  • Contract Requirements: Support the development, review and refinement of contract requirements, scopes of work and specifications. Ensure requirements are clear, commercially practical and aligned with operational needs and governance expectations.
  • Other responsibilities as reasonably directed by leadership team, including but not limited, deployment to a delivery program to perform contract management duties.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in commerce, business, law, engineering, quantity surveying, procurement or a related discipline (or equivalent experience), combined with circa 6 years relevant experience in procurement, commercial management, contract management or supplier management.
  • Knowledge of various contracting and procurement models for infrastructure project delivery.
  • Experience managing operational and financial risks with demonstrated strategies implemented
    to protect the business.

  • Plans and Aligns: Plans and prioritises work to meet commitments aligned with organisational goals. Forexample, maintains focus on agreed plans, responds to changes and coordinates with stakeholders to obtain required inputs.
  • Drives Results: Consistently works to achieve results, including when circumstances are challenging. Forexample, follows through on actions, maintains focus on priorities and supports timely completion of procurement and contract management activities.
  • Collaborates: Builds partnerships and works cooperatively with others to meet shared objectives. For example, engages stakeholders early, shares information and contributes constructively to team and cross-functional outcomes.
