Job Summary:

The Senior Piping Training Specialist serves as the technical subject matter expert for piping craft competency development, workforce readiness, and piping-specific training programs. The position supports development, implementation, and continuous improvement of piping training programs, content, qualification, and assessments while ensuring alignment with industry best practices and project needs.
"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership”   #LI-TH1 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Workforce Services lead piping SME.
  • Develop and review piping craft training programs and qualification content.
  • Advise project teams regarding piping workforce development needs.
  • Support training program implementation and startup.
  • Facilitate training if required
  • Ensure technical accuracy of piping learning materials.
  • Evaluate competency gaps and training effectiveness.
  • Mentor instructors, supervisors, and craft professionals.
  • Partner with project construction teams to identify emerging workforce needs.
  • Support quality reviews and training audits.
  • Recommend improvements to piping workforce development strategies.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10  years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
     

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of industrial piping systems and installation practices.
  • Knowledge of piping fabrication, fit-up, welding, bull rigging, material handling, testing, and commissioning support activities.
  • Ability to evaluate workforce competency requirements and training gaps.
  • Ability to develop and validate technical training curriculum.
  • Ability to mentor instructors, supervisors, foremen, and craft professionals.
  • Knowledge of industrial construction safety requirements and quality standards.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to varied audiences.
  • Experience supporting workforce development and knowledge transfer initiatives.
  • Knowledge of union apprenticeship and craft training programs preferred.
  • Previous Bechtel piping construction experience preferred.
