Project Overview:

Mining and Metals:

Increasing production of critical minerals provides key components of clean energy technologies, from wind turbines to batteries. This shift to clean energy—and the need for commodities—is critical to underpinning the energy transition. At Bechtel, our teams extract these vital resources to support net zero in a way which is more sustainable than ever before.

Job Summary:

In this position the candidate will be required to have a strong background in multidiscipline 3D plant modelling, preferably S3D. As a PD&P designer you will be required to contribute creating plant equipment & piping layouts according to the instructions of the EGS or direct supervisor, you will be required to collaborate closely with other designers and coordinate with other disciplines to ensure that the 3D design meets all the regulations ensuring compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, standards, and design criteria set by the project. The role requires proficiency in 3D design and the ability to extract 2D orthographic and isometric piping drawings from the model, under minimal supervision.

Major Responsibilities:

• Essential duties include performing 3D modeling of piping and equipment layout in a 3D model environment. Preferably S3D.
• Preparing drawings/documents such as General Arrangements, Elevations and piping isometrics drawings.
• Assisting with coordination of 3D model activities, i.e., input, interference reconciliation, etc. with other physical related disciplines.
• Coordinating and interfacing as directed with the day-to-day technical work of PD&P engineers & designers
• Participating in design reviews, works within PD&P design team on the assigned project.
• Ensuring PD&P systems design comply with all applicable installation codes, and standards.
• Facilitating technical discussions with third parties.
• Participating in the preparation of PD&P design estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and manages implementation and performance accordingly.
• Ensuring PD&P systems design comply with all applicable installation codes and standards.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires Technical degree related to Industrial Design, and at least 10+ years of experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Proficiency using a 3D layout / Piping design platform, preferably S3D.
• Experience using 3D piping / layout modelling tools is mandatory for this position.
• Experience using 3D/2D drafting tools.
• Intermediate English level (desirable).
