Project Overview:
Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. We are partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Bechtel Manufacturing & Technology, Inc. offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicle, and data center markets. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, the M&T global business unit also includes colleagues working in Arizona, Ohio, Texas, India, and additional project locations around the world.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will support the Area Manager in leading interdisciplinary construction teams and coordinating field execution. You will assist in overseeing construction activities, ensuring alignment with plans, schedules, safety, and quality requirements, while helping drive efficient project delivery.
Major Responsibilities:
- Support jobsite operations including coordination of Bechtel, subcontractors, suppliers, and client activities within the assigned area.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining construction schedules, manpower plans, and material/equipment needs.
- Monitor jobsite expenditures and support cost control efforts.
- Supervise and coordinate field personnel under direction of the Area Manager.
- Maintain working relationships with client representatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, codes, and Bechtel standards.
- Participate in safety meetings and reinforce safe work practices.
- Support administrative and reporting functions for field operations.
- Assist in implementation of corporate policies and procedures.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Extensive working knowledge of construction planning, monitoring and control.
- Familiar with construction tools and equipment as well as their uses.
- Extensive technical knowledge and experience in CSA operations to ensure adequate coordination with all stakeholders for smooth and safe execution.
- Proficient in Microsoft suite in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications
- Experience managing union craft Heavy industrial US direct hire construction experience
- Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook and the Bechtel Core Processes as they relate to area of responsibility.
- Knowledge of safety and relevant OSHA requirements and regulations.
- Knowledge of Bechtel's "Zero Accidents" safety program. Excellent customer relations and communication skills.
Additional Information:
- Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required.
- Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress).
- Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task.
