Project Overview:

Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. We are partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Bechtel Manufacturing & Technology, Inc. offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicle, and data center markets. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, the M&T global business unit also includes colleagues working in Arizona, Ohio, Texas, India, and additional project locations around the world.

Job Summary:

Bechtel is seeking a Quality Engineer Causal Analyst and corrective action program (CAP) for the Manufacturing and Technology team based in New Albany, Ohio.  The Quality Engineer Causal Analyst will report to the Continuous Improvement Manager. 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading Corrective Action Program efforts and leveraging opportunities to resolve gaps and process problems through tracking the Causal Analysis to completion. 
  • Reviews and monitors nonconforming conditions and associated corrective actions to ensure quality program effectiveness. 
  • Analyzes and recommends solutions to mitigate performance risk. 
  • Follows up on actions taken in response to audit findings to ensure adequacy of completed corrective actions. 
  • Works with and/or leads cause analysis, in conjunction with other project personnel and applies intermediate to complex causal analysis tools to develop corrective action plans which address the root cause and assist in the resolution of complex issues. 
  • Provides input into the development of standardized metrics and key performance indicators. 
  • Assists engineering, construction, procurement, and others who request guidance on implementation of quality requirements. 
  • Monitors the implementation of Corrective Actions to ensure the effectiveness of implementation. 
  • Monitors the Corrective Action Program to ensure overall program effectiveness and opportunities for improvement. 
  • Maintains contact with designated client personnel, as applicable, to provide status, manage relationships, and execute applicable actions. 
  • Develop Quality incident OOM criteria for selecting appropriate causal analysis tool (RCAs – 5 Whys), and facilitate causal analysis activities  

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5 - 8 years of relevant experience or 9 - 12 years of relevant work experience 
  • Must be a US Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Green Holder. 
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Proficient in the use of a PC computer, Microsoft software and database administration. 


 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Technical knowledge and experience in the application of engineering, procurement and construction principles and processes, and regulatory commitments.
  • Knowledge of the application of Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience establishing, monitoring, and analyzing data and reporting results to management. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Power BI tool, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and influence change; and facilitate diverse teams to achieve timely deliverables.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of a PC computer, Microsoft software and database administration.
  • Trained in Causal Analysis techniques.
  • Experience with Corrective Action programs.
  • Experience with Lessons Learned or Operational Experience Programs.
