Job Summary:
Reporting to the Regional CSU Manager, the Automation CSU Specialist is responsible for providing office support to projects on data automation and analytics processes for our software applicatons and digital tools. Engage with other disciplines including engineering, construction and project controls to exchange data between our standard applications often creating new automations.
A CSU Automation Specialist sets up and administers the digital completions and commissioning tools and databases that structure and track the commissioning process. They build and maintain completions hierarchies, tag databases, check sheets, punch lists, and workflows.
The role may provide the opportunity to travel to projects.
Major Responsibilities:
- Improves various commissioning data handling processes and computer software systems by automating specific parts to work independently and automatically.
- Revises existing data handling technology so it requires less human interaction.
- Monitors the performance of the implemented changes for data reporting accuracy and repeatability.
- Coordinates with project controls team to provide and align progress reports with project milestones.
- Develops in excel or other corporate software tool a system turnover and handover skyline template.
- Develops or enhance current data processing and analytics (databroker) tools like Oracle, Intergraph (smart Plant), Inspec, to produce accurate equipment list with attributes assigned automatically based on plant 3D type models.
- Uses Power BI to collect and organize data in condensed presentations or prepopulates data in test or work control forms.
- Build tools and systems to support field operations and automates processes.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to generate high-quality data.
- Coordinates with other contractors or suppliers to obtain the required digital data in formats that can be used for our tools.
- Collaborates with business units to understand and support business analytic needs.
- Works closely with data scientists and other analytics professionals in the organization.
- Reports technical issues or problems noted during the executions of the above activities.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Previous involvement in project delivery in any capacity.
- In-depth knowledge in the areas of and knowledge of principles and practices related to software automation.
- Good knowledge of related construction and engineering practices.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Good knowledge of tools used by Bechtel (Smart Completions, BookBuilder, Aconex, etc.).
