Project Overview:
In September 2002, the Bechtel Pueblo Team was awarded the systems contract to facilitate the Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant, or, PCAPP, through all project stages — design, construction, systemization, pilot testing, operations and closure. PCAPP safely destroyed the remaining U.S. chemical weapons stockpile formerly stored at the U.S. Army Pueblo Chemical Depot (PCD), now known as the U.S. Army Chemical Materials Activity-West, in Colorado. The last munition in the chemical weapons stockpile in Colorado was destroyed on June 22, 2023. PCAPP is now in the closure and demolition phase.
