Job Summary:

Are you passionate about creating positive environments where employees feel valued, supported, and connected? Bechtel is seeking a Workforce Services Accommodation and Engagement Representative to support employee engagement, wellbeing, and retention initiatives and programs in Bechtel’s accommodation facilities.

In partnership with Project Workforce Services teams, Accommodation teams, Human Resources, and other functional partners, the successful candidate will support programs and strategies designed to enhance the employee experience within Project accommodation environments. This includes developing engagement initiatives, coordinating wellbeing activities, supporting recognition programs, gathering workforce feedback, and identifying opportunities to strengthen retention outcomes.

The successful candidate will work closely with project teams to understand workforce needs, implement initiatives that promote positive accommodation culture and employee wellbeing, and support continuous improvement efforts related to engagement and retention.

This position will be based in Bechtel's Reston Office and report to the Workforce Services Accommodation and Housing Manager and support the Workforce Services Supervisor - Engagement and Retention in the broader Craft Professional engagement and retention strategy efforts. Occasional travel may be required to Project sites. #LI-TH1 

Major Responsibilities:

Accommodation Engagement and Employee Experience

  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of accommodation engagement programs.
  • Collaborate with project Accommodation, Workforce Services, and site leadership teams to enhance the employee experience within accommodation and lodging environments.
  • Coordinate and standardize the overarching approach to employee engagement activities, special events, recreational programs, and community-building initiatives within Project accommodations designed to improve morale and workforce satisfaction.
  • Assist in developing and implementing wellbeing initiatives that support employee health, work-life balance, and overall wellness.
  • Support employee recognition programs and initiatives that reinforce positive behaviors and celebrate workforce and community contributions.
  • Identify and share best practices across projects to strengthen engagement and retention outcomes.

Workforce Feedback and Retention

  • Support workforce surveys, focus groups, feedback sessions, and other employee listening initiatives.
  • Analyze workforce feedback, engagement metrics, turnover trends, and other data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in developing recommendations and action plans aimed at improving employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Monitor workforce trends and provide insights to Project teams on factors impacting employee experience and retention.
  • Support the development and implementation of retention initiatives aligned with workforce needs and Project objectives.

Program Coordination and Site Support

  • Coordinate logistics and implementation activities for engagement, recognition, wellbeing, and retention programs.
  • Develop engagement materials, resources, and tools that support workforce participation and awareness of available programs.
  • Partner with Project teams to ensure consistent execution of employee experience initiatives across multiple accommodation locations.
  • Support Project onboarding and orientation initiatives by helping employees become familiar with available accommodation services, amenities, and engagement opportunities.
  • Travel to Project sites as needed to support workforce engagement activities, employee events, and retention initiatives.

Reporting and Continuous Improvement

  • Prepare reports, presentations, and workforce analyses related to engagement initiatives, employee experience programs, and retention outcomes.
  • Track participation, effectiveness, and key performance indicators associated with engagement and wellbeing programs.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by evaluating program effectiveness and recommending enhancements.
  • Assist with benchmarking industry practices and identifying innovative approaches to improve employee experience in project accommodation environments.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree and 8-10  years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Labor Relations, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Communications, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in employee engagement, workforce services, human resources, hospitality operations, accommodation services, employee relations, or related field.
  • Experience supporting employee wellbeing, engagement, retention, or workforce programs preferred.
  • Construction, industrial, energy, mining, or construction accommodation experience preferred.
  • Must have the right to work in the United States.
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage employees at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate events, programs, and employee-focused initiatives.
  • Strong planning, organization, and Project coordination skills.
  • Ability to analyze workforce data and identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across diverse project teams.
