Job Summary:

The Resource Planning Coordinator supports the Resource Manager by helping Functional and Project Managers plan and execute staffing strategies, track resource progress, identify gaps, and evaluate redeployment opportunities. In this role, you will work closely with Talent Acquisition, HR, project controls, project management, functional leadership, business leadership, and business development to support timely, data-informed staffing decisions across the Manufacturing & Technology (M&T) business line.

Resource planning includes forecasting future staffing needs, scaling teams as project scope changes, and supporting redeployment as projects conclude. This position requires adaptability, diplomacy, and initiative to balance project needs, functional engagement, business priorities, and HR and Talent Acquisition processes. It also plays an important role in promoting standardized tools and high-quality workforce data that support effective staffing for large-scale engineering and construction projects.

This position is designated as part-time telework under Bechtel’s global policy and requires a minimum of three days per week in person at the assigned office or project. Weekly schedules will be determined in coordination with the supervisor and functional leadership.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Support consistent deployment practices for M&T personnel through effective use of standardized tools, dashboards, and resource planning processes.
  • Draft and develop reports to help Functional Managers make timely, data-informed resource allocation decisions across M&T projects.
  • Use data analytics to monitor staffing performance, identify emerging resource gaps, and support workforce planning for future project demand.
  • Perform staffing plan quality reviews and load approved plans into corporate resource planning tools.
  • Support revision of staffing plans as prospective projects mature and project scope, schedules, and labor needs change.
  • Collaborate with project leadership, Functional Managers, and project HR to maintain accurate, high-quality workforce data in SmartStaff and other forecasting tools.
  • Provide guidance to managers and project teams on resource planning responsibilities, dashboard use, staffing progress tracking, and data quality.
  • Support continuous improvement of processes and procedures.
  • May assist functional or hiring managers with creation of requisitions and candidate processing.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Level I: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) with 1-2 years of relevant experience or 5-6 years’ relevant work experience without a degree.
  • Level II: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) with 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years’ relevant work experience without a degree.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Advanced Excel proficiency, including data analysis, reporting, and presentation of findings for leadership or stakeholder review.
  • Working knowledge of HR and talent processes, including Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development, and Performance Management.
  • Knowledge of Bechtel systems and tools, such as TalentWorks, SmartStaff, Employee Central/SAP.
