Project Overview:

Mining and Metals: 

Increasing production of critical minerals provides key components of clean energy technologies, from wind turbines to batteries. This shift to clean energy—and the need for commodities—is critical to underpinning the energy transition. At Bechtel, our teams extract these vital resources to support net zero in a way which is more sustainable than ever before.

Job Summary:

The Summer Internship program is designed for highly motivated university students seeking to develop their knowledge, strengthen their skills, and contribute to real-world business challenges.

During the program, participants will have the opportunity to collaborate with professionals from various fields and participate in initiatives that generate impact on projects within Bechtel's Mining and Metals business unit.  

Major Responsibilities:

  • Summer Interns will work under the supervision and guidance of area leaders and will collaborate closely with Supervisors on daily activities, which include:  
  • Learning about various systems and procedures used in their discipline. 
    • Receiving training, where they are expected to collaborate on the preparation of weekly/monthly reports and activities, including the development and use of databases and other reports. 
    • Observing and learning from experienced professionals in the sector. 
    • Collaborating on daily tasks and projects.
    • Participating in training sessions and workshops to enhance their skills.
    • Conducting research and analysis as needed. 
    • Contributing innovative ideas and solutions to ongoing projects. 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Students must be in the final stage of their studies (in the last two years of their degree program).  
  • Required degrees: (Civil Engineering, Civil Electrical Engineering, Civil Mechanical Engineering, Civil Industrial Engineering, Civil Information & Digital Enginering, Civil Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Civil Engineering). 
  • Civil Construction Degree.
  • Availability during January and February 2027. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Good Communication Skills. The ideal candidate will be flexible and adaptable and can maintain a positive and professional attitude under stress.
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Adaptability and flexibility
  • Students should be from the core electrical engineering field.
  • Good Academic background.
  • The Students must know the basic principles and practices
  • Problem-solving, entering and verifying data, working knowledge of computers, various software applications, and standard office equipment.
