Project Overview:
Mining and Metals:
Increasing production of critical minerals provides key components of clean energy technologies, from wind turbines to batteries. This shift to clean energy—and the need for commodities—is critical to underpinning the energy transition. At Bechtel, our teams extract these vital resources to support net zero in a way which is more sustainable than ever before.
Job Summary:
Bechtel's University Hire program is aimed at young professionals who are just starting their career. Its purpose is to provide a comprehensive experience that allows us to understand the operation of the business, the main functions involved in our projects, and access training and professional development instances.During the course of the program, whose duration is two years and which starts in January 2027, the participants will be assigned to specific projects or to key functional areas of the company, with the possibility of programmed rotation between the following disciplines: Engineering, Supply Chain, Project Control, Information & Digital and Construction. It is expected that, at the end of the program, the professionals will be able to assume a definitive position within one of our teams or projects, actively contributing to the fulfillment of the strategic objectives of the organization.
This program contemplates:
- Indefinite contract from the beginning.
- Access to an annual malls technical trainings and specialized trainings for graduates.
- Activities and field trips for integration and strengthening of teams (team building).
- Personalized accompaniment through mentors and sponsors assigned to support the professional development of each participant.
Major Responsibilities:
These responsibilities and tasks are referential and may vary according to needs or stages of the assigned project. Likewise, it will be about tasks that will begin with a simple complexity and under the direction of their direct supervision:
- Project Control: Develop cost estimates, analysis and control activities, along with supporting the implementation of cost monitoring and planning, as well as the control of standards, techniques, systems and reports.
- Construction: Perform tasks associated with the different stages of a project, whether in the study phase or in execution. Among these; verify construction sequences, work methodologies, constructability and execution plan, review work scopes, yields, quantities, technical bases and measurement and payment bases, material requisitions, service requisitions, as well as support the field supervision in technical aspects and quality assurance.
- Engineering: Preparing engineering documents, such as calculation reports, design criteria, technical specifications, data sheets, materials requisition, technical evaluations, technical reports, among other requirements adjusted to the scope of the project, as well as reviewing documents/plans, interdisciplinary management, coordinating with suppliers and attending meetings.
- Supply Chain (Procurement and Contracts): Perform support tasks at the different stages of the bidding process; contact suppliers to track the delivery of offers or pending information, make reports on quotes or status of documentation delivered by suppliers, update proforms and track the closing status of 6 purchase orders.
- Information & Digital: Support the development and implementation of technological solutions for Bechtel projects and operations, participating in data analysis activities, process automation, application support, report development, information management, systems testing and collaboration with global teams to drive innovation initiatives and digital transformation.
Education and Experience Requirements:

Be graduated or in process of obtaining a degree of the following careers or related:

Civil Engineering (Civil Engineering, Civil Electrical Engineering, Civil Mechanical Engineering, Civil Industrial Engineering, Civil Information & Digital Enginering, Civil Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Civil Engineering)

Civil Construction Degree.

Have a maximum of 12 months of work experience from the date of graduation.

Modality of in-person work in Santiago.

Availability to start in January 2027.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- High sense of responsibility and commitment to organizational goals.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Clear, precise verbal and written communication skills aimed at different audiences.
- Competence in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems in dynamic environments.
- Intermediate-advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- English language management at an intermediate-advanced level, both oral and written.
