Project Overview:
Mining and Metals:
Increasing production of critical minerals provides key components of clean energy technologies, from wind turbines to batteries. This shift to clean energy—and the need for commodities—is critical to underpinning the energy transition. At Bechtel, our teams extract these vital resources to support net zero in a way which is more sustainable than ever before.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will participate in the design, development, modification, and evaluation of civil/structural components and processes. You will assist with preparation of construction drawings, project schedules, models, calculations, material requisitions, studies, reports, presentations, and proposals. Your assistance will contribute to civil/structural designs that meet project requirements.
Major Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the design, development, modification and evaluation of components and processes.
- Compilling, adjusting, and correlating data that will develop professional work knowledge and abilities through the application of standard Civil/Structural engineering techniques, procedures and criteria utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) and Design Control Check List (DCCL) and Design Review Notices (DRNs).
- Providing direct support to other engineering disciplines for process/chemical related matters.
- Researching, designing, developing, and evaluating components, products, and systems by using applied process/chemical engineering principles.
- Coordinating development and presentation of material when requested.
- Preparing or participating in preparation of construction drawings, project schedules, graphic presentations, civil drawings, steel and concrete calculations, and material requisitions.
- Checking manufacturers’ drawings and data for compliance with specification and design drawings.
- Designing or participating in design for minor structures and portions of buildings.
- Providing direct support to other engineering disciplines for Civil/Structural related matters.
- Assisting in constructability reviews.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- University Hire with less than 1 year of experience or 4-5 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- High sense of responsibility and commitment to organizational goals.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Clear, precise and targeted verbal and written communication skills for different audiences.
- Competence in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems in dynamic environments.
- Intermediate-advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- English language management at an intermediate-advanced level, both oral and written.
