Project Overview:
Mining and Metals:
Increasing production of critical minerals provides key components of clean energy technologies, from wind turbines to batteries. This shift to clean energy—and the need for commodities—is critical to underpinning the energy transition. At Bechtel, our teams extract these vital resources to support net zero in a way which is more sustainable than ever before.
Job Summary:
As a Project Risk Management professional at Bechtel, you will provide expert execution capabilities of project risk management activities. You will provide oversight, training and mentoring of project risk specialists and risk analysts toward project and corporate objectives. You will collate risk intelligence and associated best practices to distribute throughout the Bechtel enterprise.
"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership”.
Major Responsibilities:
- Implementing an effective and integrated system of risk management strategy: plan, processes, procedures, work instructions, etc. in line with international best practices and standards.
- Maintaining Risk and Opportunities statistics, monitor and report on Risk Management system effectiveness at project level.
- Facilitating and supporting risk and opportunity workshops across the Portfolio as requested by the Project Controls Manager/Director.
- Facilitating risk workshops and advise on schedule/cost risk analysis.
- Consolidating risks from Project level to Program & Portfolio level for overall review & reporting.
- Reporting Risk Metrics and graphical displays including dashboards to Project Management.
- Supporting Corporate GBU Project Risk Managers in pre- and post-award project risk management (PRM) activities (e.g.proposal development, PRM program deployment)
- Supporting and monitoring the implementation of the Risk function across Projects.
- Supporting training and mentoring other areas (both on and off project resources) towards project objectives.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of International Risk Standards e.g. ISO31000, PMBok, etc and associated standards e.g. ISO9001, ISO45001, ISO14000, etc.
- Excellent communication skills with multiple levels of Management
- Ability to maintain a holistic, systems-level view of the project, recognizing cross-functional interdependencies and their impact on project risk.
- Experience facilitating risk workshops, risk reviews/ sessions
- Team player with ability to lead a multinational, multi-dimensional organization
- Proficiency with industry-standard software for risk management/analysis programs.
- Excellent language communication skills.
