Project Overview:

Ujina Growth Project:

The mining area is located 185 km southeast of Iquique, at 4,400 meters above sea level, in Tarapacá Region. The main objective of Doña Inés de Collahuasi’s project is to increase the concentrator’s throughput capacity from an average of 170 ktpd to 210 ktpd. Currently, the awarded service corresponds to the execution of Package PG1 - the first of three packages contemplated for this project - which involves the detailed engineering and procurement (EP) of six flotation cells, and on-site support during the construction phase. Service for package PG1, which began on August 1, 2023, is a continuation of the study phase (FEL3).

Job Summary:

In this role, you will lead construction automation efforts for complex projects, using database management, programming skills, and 3D tools. You will establish and administer the portfolio of construction automation applications on the jobsite and data requirements. You will review performance and recommend adjustments to tailor solutions to support strategy and compliance. 

Major Responsibilities:

• Revision of plans electrical engineering, control and instrumentation.
• Integration of third-party design plans with Bechtel design plans.
• Reviewing and changing control of Bechtel and third-party circuit listings.
• Routing load channelings and cables for the different project circuits.
• Updating of circuits once new designs are issued.
• Issuance and control of setRoute cards.
• Review and assignment of reels delivered to construction.
• Responsible for the change controls product of information issued by the vendors.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Ability to resolve design issues independently and collaboratively with other engineering disciplines, construction, and the client.
• Must have experience with an electronic Cable Management System, such as the SETROUTE program, and be able to input and complete corrections to the database.
• Third part engineering review and integration with Bechtel electrical and instrumentation designs
• Knowledge & application of NEC code and Chilean electrical standards.
• Demonstrated technical writing, data management, verbal communication, presentation, and teaching skills. 
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents, construction plans, and specifications. 
• Relevant experience includes, but is not limited to, drawings for electrical systems and equipment on mining process facilities, or complex building electrical systems.
• Hands-on experience using Smartplant 3D, SmartSketch, and AutoCAD. 
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Ability to utilize engineering and office automation tools effectively.
• Broad knowledge of the application of electrical engineering design principles.
