Project Overview:

Bechtel has been involved over the last 80 years in some of the world’s busiest and most complex airport projects, including Greenfield and Brownfield developments. In the GCC, we have held significant roles on King Khalid, King Fahad, Dubai, Hamad, and Muscat international airports.
Saudi Arabian Bechtel Company has been appointed to provide project management consultancy services (including technical, commercial, and construction management) for the development of a state of the art international airport in the city of Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. 
King Salman International Airport will have a capacity of up to 120 million travellers by 2030 and 185 million travellers by 2050, and the capacity to process up to 3.5 million tons of cargo by 2050. Bechtel will provide PMC services for three new terminals; Terminal 6 is a new build ‘low cost carrier’ – hyper efficient terminal with gross floor area of ≈450,000m2, capacity of 20mppa; Iconic Terminal is a new build ‘new concept’ terminal with gross floor area of ≈ 1M m2, capacity of 40 to 45 mppa, and Private Aviation Terminal and hangars for VIPs and business jet passengers.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will participate in and support the delivery, monitoring, and reporting of sustainability requirements across design and construction packages. Your interdisciplinary coordination between sustainability, design, construction, HSE, commissioning, and contractor teams will help to monitor sustainability obligations, certification requirements, and key performance indicators (KPIs) are effectively implemented, monitored, validated, and reported. You will provide dedicated support for sustainability compliance management, certification documentation, performance data validation, risk mitigation, stakeholder coordination, sustainability reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple project assets.

 

Major Responsibilities:

Project

  • Communicate, monitor, and integrate sustainability obligation updates into project delivery activities.
  • Conduct mapping and tracking of sustainability deliverables throughout design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover stages.
  • Coordinate with contractors and consultants to obtain sustainability performance data, progress updates, and supporting evidence in a timely manner.
  • Validate Contractor’s sustainability performance data against contractual KPIs, sustainability targets, and certification requirements.
  • Support conducting gap analyses and identify non-compliances, risks, or underperforming areas requiring corrective action by Contractors.
  • Compile sustainability performance information from multiple assets and stakeholders into consolidated performance reports.
  • Maintain sustainability performance dashboards, trackers, databases, and reporting tools.
  • Monitor progress against sustainability commitments and provide regular reporting on program-wide sustainability performance by supporting the preparation of weekly, monthly, and executive-level sustainability reports.
  • Support reviewing third-party sustainability rating system submissions, including LEED, Mostadam, WELL.
  • Ensure sustainability metrics, training records, RFIs, action logs, initiatives, and certification progress records remain accurate and up to date.
  • Assist in the development of sustainability guidance documents, procedures, templates, and training materials.
  • Support delivery of sustainability awareness initiatives and training programs for project teams and contractors.

Non-Project 

  • Reviews and delivers Sustainability awareness training and/or enterprise or project supervisory and technical training. Maintains/develops enterprise-wide processes and procedures. 
  • Promotes development of enterprise applications 

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proactive in maintaining safety for everyone in all situations.
  • Proactive in living by Bechtel’s Values, Visions, and Commitments.
  • Hand on experience in supporting construction phase coordination, stakeholder interfacing and regular reporting including PowerBI dashboards
